In the first scene Oberon, the king of the fairies and Titania, the queen of the fairies have a dispute about having a young Indian prince to be their bodyguard for fairyland (the place they live)or for the boy to live a normal boy life. When Titania leaves Oberon sends his jester, Puck to go find the flower shot by Cupid's arrow. Once the juice of the flower is poured on your eyes you fall in love with the first person you see. So once she falls in love with something, Oberon plans to take the child and trade the boy over the potion to turn her back to normal. After that dilemma, Oberon overhears a conversation between Demetrius and Helena. He sees that Demetrius is being mean to Helena and begins to become angry. He then uses half of the flower's juice on her wife Titania and tells Puck to use the other half of flower's juice on an Athenian man. Puck then goes to do as hes told.
In the second scene it starts out with the fairies singing Titania to sleep. Oberon then puts the flower's juice on her Titania's eyes. After that, the story goes back to Lysander and Hermia. Lysander and Hermia stop to sleep and begin to walk again in the morning. While they are sleeping Puck thinks that Lysander is Demetrius and sprinkles the other half of the flower's juice on Lysander. While Helena is walking in the forest she finds Lysander and tries to wake him up. When he wakes up he falls in love with her. Helena thinks hes being rude to her saying that he loves her, so she then walks away. Lysander then continues to follow her blinded in love. When Hermia wakes up she finds out that Lysander isnt by her anymore so she worries and looks after him.
